Recently, Sheldon Lavin received the Global visionary award for his work in OSI Group LLC. A company dedicated to meat and food processing with a clean and safe environmental mindset thanks to Sheldon Lavin. This company works with vegetables, poultry, fish, dough products, general meats and processing solutions. Sheldon Levin received this Global Visionary Award from India’s Vision World Academy in February of 2016 because of his ability to do lucrative business while helping the world by spreading economic boosts like employment opportunities and international connections. OSI has business peppered throughout the world in over 60 locations and 60 different countries. Their influence went from domestic to international because of Sheldon Lavin. Mr. Lavin attended the University of Illinois And Northwestern University where he studied accounting and finance and eventually got a Bachelor of Science degree from Roosevelt University.
Sheldon first came to work with Otto & Sons in 1970 as a financer before they eventually transitioned into OSI International Foods. Sheldon’s’ high expertise has really molded OSI into a powerhouse of a company, a billion-dollar global food corporation. OSI has a long list of environmental and sustainability awards. There plants across the many countries provide jobs and economic growth to the surrounding areas.
Lavin hopes that the next generation will pick up on his humanitarian tendencies. He is known for giving to charitable causes like the Ronald McDonald house. He has supported the house for over 25 years and is actually a trustee and a chairman of its capital campaign. Sheldon Lavin is also the Director of the Sheba foundation a family charity foundation. Sheldon Lavin is proud that he could raise three children with his wife, be a big force in the food processing industry, and give back to his community simultaneously.
