Victoria Doramus Shares Her Story Of Recovery

While Victoria Doramus was a print and digital media professional she made quite a name for herself in the industry. She worked as a market trend analyst and in this position helped the companies she worked at take advantage of new trends and fashions. She spent time with Stila Cosmetics, Trendera, Creative Arts Agency, and Mindshare. She also spent some time as a personal assistant to Peter Borg, the notable producer and director.

Behind the scenes, though, all was not going well for her. Victoria Doramus says that she increasingly became addicted to substances like cocaine and alcohol. Victoria Doramus’ life had to spiral completely out of control before she could get onto the road of recovery. She is now an expert when it comes to recovery from addiction and spends a large portion of her time helping other addicts come to grip with their situation and begin their own journey to recovery.

Throughout her professional career writing has been a big part of it. Victoria Doramus has done freelance writing for a lot of publication and has also ghostwritten articles. Victoria Doramus’ work has appeared in the pages of Cosmopolitan, USA Today, and Huffpost. Some of the books she helped to write are, “Decades: A Century of Fashion”, and “What’s Next: The Expert’s Guide”.

Since completing her recovery program, freelance writer Victoria Doramus has focused on helping others through her work with nonprofits. The one organization near and dear to her heart is the Amy Winehouse Foundation, named after the singer and songwriter who died of a drug overdose. Another nonprofit she volunteers for is Room to Read which teaches kids in developing nations how to read. More than 20,000 communities around the world have benefited from this nonprofit including Grenada India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and other nations.
